PRESS RELEASE: Sevenoaks Town Council awards grants to local community groups
At the recent meeting of the Finance & General Purposes Committee held on Monday 22nd January 2018, Sevenoaks Town Council agreed grant funding for:

  1. Sevenoaks Summer Festival
  2. Publication of a book by Matthew Ball” Sevenoaks, The Great War and it’s legacy

1. Sevenoaks Summer Festival

Sevenoaks Town Council are partners of the Sevenoaks Summer Festival and annually support this with funding of £5,000.

In addition, the Town Council takes part in the Sevenoaks Summer Festival with the provision of the following events:

On the second Saturday in the Festival in the Vine Gardens this year with:
  • The Charity Fayre
  • Armed Forces Day – in commemoration of the end of World War I
  • Day of Dance
  • Band performing from 3pm to 5pm
On Saturday 30th June 2018. Further details to be published nearer the date.

b) bands performing on:
  • Sundays 24th June and 1st July from 3pm to 5pm
  • Thursdays 28th June and 5th July 2018 from 6pm to 8pm
  • on the Vine Bandstand.

Sevenoaks, The Great War and it’s Legacy

Matthew Ball is to publish a book relating to the history of the Local Sevenoaks’ Community to be available ready for “The Battle’s Over – A Nations Tribute on 11th November 2018”.

All Grant recipients receiving funding by way of a successful grant application from the Town Council over the year 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2018 will be invited to attend the Annual Town Meeting, on Monday 19th March 2018 being held at the Sevenoaks Community Centre from 6:30pm, to display how their awards were spent and how this helped the local community in Sevenoaks.
