Popular Café on the Vine obtains 5* rating

Sevenoaks Town Council is pleased to announce that the Café on the Vine has recently obtained a 5 out of 5 rating from the Environmental Health Department.

The 5 star rating is the highest available and classifies the premises in the ‘Very Good’ category.

Sevenoaks Mayor, Cllr Maxine Chakowa said “This is welcome news and reflects the ongoing commitment of the town council and café team to provide excellent facilities for the local community.”

Recently the café received a lower rating due to a technical issue with its boiler and although the boiler was replaced immediately the café had to follow the process to reregister to be scored again.

The Café on the Vine is one of the facilities that the Town Council has invested in to enhance the Vine area into an attractive green meeting place in the middle of the town.

Other improvements to the area include refurbishment of the public toilets, restoring the band stand, refurbishing the exterior of the Vine Pavilion and restoring the bridge. A restored red BT Telephone Box housing a defibrillator is due to be installed soon.

The Vine area now provides a regular programme of events for the community.
