PRESS RELEASE

SEVENOAKS REFILL SCHEME

It is widely reported and acknowledged that plastic pollution is a world wide problem, in the News and documentaries such as Blue Planet. Sevenoaks Town Partnership want the businesses and people of Sevenoaks to help reduce this problem. The Refill scheme aims to reduce plastic water bottle pollution by allowing people to refill their water bottles at participating businesses.

How you can be involved and help

Businesses can sign up to the scheme by agreeing to fill people’s water bottles for free when they come into their shop/place of business. The only cost for the scheme is the water that you use, there is no membership costs. The Refill Scheme is nationwide and has shown that businesses have seen increased footfall and increased product purchases as often people coming in to refill their water bottles buy other products and become repeat customers. As a member of the scheme you will get a window sticker to say you are a member and your business will be listed on posters and the national website giving your business profile a boost.

Our aim is to launch the Sevenoaks Refill Scheme to the public at our Wellbeing Show at the Stag Plaza on 17th May, where we will also be handing out free reusable water bottles to members of the public.
