TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION VEHICULAR ACCESS FROM THE A225 INTO KNOLE PARK

Published: 26 November 2020

Sevenoaks Town Council has recommended to approve temporary construction vehicular access from the A225 into Knole Park in order to carry out work on the water main network.

On Monday 16th November, the Town Council’s Planning Committee recommended approval for temporary works vehicular access on the Land South West of Knole Park opposite The Rise. This will include associated highway works, the installation of temporary heras security gates, heras fencing, and deer proof fencing. Whilst this will cause some inconvenience, the Town Council has agreed that this access is necessary for South East Water to install a new water pipeline, to reinforce the existing water main network in Sevenoaks.

In order to try to minimise the impact of this, The Town Council requested the following during the construction works:
• That all lorries and vans leave the park at weekends
• Pedestrian access continues to be provided and public rights of way are reinstated at the end of the contract.
• That appropriate traffic management be put in place including a temporary 20 mph speed limit.
• That lorries try to avoid access the works during school and work rush hours.
