To celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty, the Queen Consort, a celebration Afternoon Tea is being organised in Sevenoaks High Street on Sunday 7 May 2023.

The road will be closed to traffic from 12.00pm – 5.30pm and the community will be invited to bring their own food and drinks for the event which will take place between 2.00pm4.00pm. Entertainers and stalls will add to the festive atmosphere. Lots of volunteers and help from the local community will be needed to make it a successful and memorable occasion for our Town.

Please note this is to replace the original planned lunchtime event. The Mayor, Cllr Rachel Parry said: I'm extremely happy and so pleased to support Sevenoaks's Coronation Afternoon Tea Party in our town's High Street. I am also so very grateful to our colleagues at the District Council including Councillor Peter Fleming and officers who have worked so hard to ensure that the High Street can be closed, on the afternoon of Sunday the 7th of May.

The Tea Party should be a joyous occasion for our Sevenoaks' community to join together celebrating the crowning of our King and Queen. We'll be able to meet old friends, make new friends and enjoy the centre of our beautiful Market Town. The Tea Party will be a first for Sevenoaks, a very special occasion, and an opportunity to join with the whole of our nation in honour of our great country.

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP?

Help and assistance comes in all shapes and forms, from the loan of tables to providing entertainment, and we would be grateful for anything you can offer – large or small. Please contact Sevenoaks Town Council for further details or to offer assistance.
