PRESS RELEASE: Defibrillator installed at Knole Paddock and Raleys Field
Published: 25 April 2023
When someone has a cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces their chances of survival. Knowing how to perform CPR could help to save someone’s life. Having access to a defibrillator can improve survival rates.
For this reason, Sevenoaks Town Council has installed an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the sports pavilion at Knole Paddock and Raleys Field. The AED is located on the front wall in clear view and is available to all visitors for use in an emergency. It is stored in a cabinet and is heated in winter to maintain a suitable temperature.
The Chairman of the Open Spaces and Leisure Commitee, Cllr Nicholas Busvine OBE, said: ‘I am very pleased that the Town Council has been able to make this defibrillator available as part of our wider programme to support our local residents as they make use of our public open spaces.’
Sevenoaks Town Council is grateful to local company FM Conway for their sponsorship of the AED through an initiative offered by the charity Creating Lifesavers.
The Creating Lifesavers team is aiming to teach as many people as possible about the vital benefits of learning CPR skills and encouraging companies across the country to invest in life-saving defibrillators for their communities.
Creang Lifesavers will be returning to Knole Paddock and Raleys Field to provide an introducon and demonstraon in the use of the AED.
