PRESS RELEASE: Installation of new access ramp

Published: 08 July 2019

For the past five years Sevenoaks Town Council has been working on the restoration of the Vine Pavilion one of Sevenoaks’s most iconic buildings.

The work has included new roofs, repairs to wooden cladding and repainting and refurbishment of exterior toilets, accessible for all.

Sevenoaks Town Council completes its restoration of the exterior of the Vine Pavilion

with the installation of new access ramp and refurbished sash windows.

The installation of the new access ramp was made possible due to a £25,000 grant from the Tarmac’s Landfill Communities Fund and the Town Council are most grateful to the Trust for this.

The ramp was designed by local architect Glenn Ball to meet all conservation requirements and be practical for users of the pavilion with the bonus of providing a handy balustrade which doubles up as a ‘beer stand’ for those watching cricket.

The Vine Pavilion is home to the Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club and Sevenoaks Hockey Club both of whom have plans now to refurbish the interior.
