Information for residents on start of the 20mph limit scheme in Sevenoaks

This summer some roads in Sevenoaks town will be having new signage and road markings installed from 12th August for the implementation of the 20mph speed limit from 1st October 2024 to boost road safety and help the environment.

Mayor Cllr Ancrum comments: "There is a great deal of evidence that, in urban settings, lower vehicle speeds significantly reduce accidents, improve air quality and make the community a better place to be. We are very pleased that residents of the town supported the project, and we are looking forward to delivering a safer, greener Sevenoaks."

Works are being scheduled and undertaken by Kent County Council. The 20mph Scheme is funded by Sevenoaks Town Council.

For further information and links to interactive maps go to the Consultations page of this website.

There you can also read and download a leaflet with a Q and A which aims to explain the process and answer residents’ questions. You can access it on this link rb.gy/w2c7so

You can also scan this QR code to download the leaflet.

Sevenoaks Masterplans: We want your views on future opportunities for development and investment in Sevenoaks.

Please give your views in our Masterplan surveys!

We are currently running two separate surveys to investigate how the Town Centre and St Johns area are currently being used, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and what local people would like to see improved.

Responses will be used to inform the content of two separate Masterplans for the above areas, and local people are therefore encouraged to fill out both surveys and share them with their contacts so they can have their say on the future visions for Sevenoaks.

Please fill in the surveys on links below:
Sevenoaks Town Centre Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P9WMYSC
St Johns area Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DPRP56W

And please attend workshop events:
A first successful workshop for the Town Centre Masterplan took place on 23rd April 2024.
A separate workshop for the St John's Masterplan will take place 4-7pm on 30th April 2024 in the Chambers at the Town Council Offices, Bradbourne Vale Road. All are welcome.

Follow-up consultation events will be held in May/June 2024 to present a draft vision for the future of each of the two areas.
For full details, including what a Masterplan will achieve, please see the linked press release.
Stay updated:
For updates on the Masterplans, please visit the News section of the Town Council’s website, where periodic updates will be published. These will also be available via Planning Committee Agendas.
