The Commonwealth flag will be flown in Sevenoaks on Monday 8 March to commemorate the Commonwealth’s shared values and history.
In 2021 the Commonwealth will strive for connection, transformation, innovation and a renewed vision for a world that delivers a common future and serves and common good.
The International Women’s Day 2021 theme offers a great opportunity to celebrate women in our communities who are providing leadership in the time of Covid-19.
Young People (over one billion in the Commonwealth) give hope and will help deliver our promise of a better world.
The Mayor of Sevenoaks stated: ‘We draw inspiration from our diversity, and the opportunities for working together, as a rich source of wisdom and a powerful influence for good in the world.
We affirm our commitment to upholding the values set out in the Commonwealth Charter, to serving one another in a spirit of respect and understanding, and to advancing development, democracy and cooperation locally, nationally, and internationally.’
