PRESS RELEASE Amended Planning Application Training received from Sevenoaks District Council

Published: 25 March 2021

As a Statutory Consultee to Sevenoaks District Council on Planning Applications, Sevenoaks Town Council receive local Planning Applications and Amended Planning Applications to comment on and offer their recommendations to the District Council.

On Monday 22nd March 2021, the Planning Committee received a presentation from Sevenoaks District Council’s Development Manager, Aaron Hill, on the procedures for processing Amended Planning Applications.

This was highly informative and was followed by a 10 minute Q&A that built upon Committee members’ understanding of Planning Applications and the processes involved in Amendments and Minor Amendments. The benefit of understanding how the District Council processes these is that Councillors, speaking on behalf of their local community, can provide informed and consistent recommendations on Amended Plans.

Reassuringly, despite there being no legal obligation to do so, it was communicated that the preference of Sevenoaks District Council is to seek insight from a local representation on amended applications, so as to remain informed and in the interest of local residents.
