WORLD BEE DAY

Published: 24 May 2021

Sevenoaks in Bloom is extending the green corridors in Sevenoaks to welcome more bees and pollinators.

The Pound in Sevenoaks, which historically was used for safekeeping of lost livestock, the last being a donkey in 1950 according to Bob Ogley, is to be planted with bee friendly wild flowers and a ‘bee hotel’.

Last year Sevenoaks won a DEFRA and Keep Britain Tidy Award for ‘Bees Needs Food and a Home’ and this year wants to enhance the green environment further.

Offers of help to plant, construct or sponsor are welcome. If you would like to know more, please contact Ann White at Sevenoaks Town Council email dtc@sevenoakstown.gov.uk
