The twenty children spent days collecting twigs, pine cones and straw which they placed inside the bug hotel to encourage wildlife to “move in”. After talking to Mayor Cllr Dr Canet about the importance of pollinators to our environment, the children scattered native wildflower seedballs into the wilderness section of the garden at Bat & Ball Centre.

As part of the national initiatives to encourage wildlife and pollinators, Sevenoaks Town Council installed the Bug Hotel, built by local resident and carpenter, Terry Connelly of Woodtec.

The Bug Hotel at Bat & Ball Centre is the second installed by the Sevenoaks Town Council, the first is located at The Pound, Pound Lane near the Vine.
