Past Mayor Cllr Dr Merilyn Canet distributes Awards and presents fundraising cheque at the end of her Civic Year

At the Sevenoaks Town Annual Council meeting held on 9th May 2022 the outgoing Mayor, Cllr Dr Merilyn Canet, announced that Hinal Patel and her team of Volunteers at Sevenoaks Pharmacy be awarded the Mayor’s Award for 2021/22 for their outstanding contributions to the community of Sevenoaks, delivering vaccinations during the pandemic.

The Mayor also issued the KALC Award 2021 to Claire Ritchie for the setting up of the Lockdown Larder and the KALC Award 2022 to Jamie Wilson (collected on his behalf by Cllr Nicholas Busvine) the driving force behind the ‘Live on the Vine’ concerts and Stag Takes Over Sevenoaks with the aim of assisting with the long term survival of the Stag.

During her year as Mayor Cllr Dr Merilyn Canet, despite social restrictions, managed to raise £4,507 for the MS Society.
