PRESS RELEASE: Pro-Skaters and BMXers to demonstrate their skill at the refurbished Greatness Rec Skate Park

Pro-Skaters and BMXers to demonstrate their skill, provide tuition and hold Competition at the refurbished of the Greatness Recreational Ground Skate Park Sevenoaks Town Council have agreed to allocate £54,509 to fund the refurbishment of the Skate Park at the Greatness Recreational Ground at Mill Lane.

The refurbishment will include the replacement of all of the current Skatelite boards and resurface. The frames will be retained and strengthened. The work is to be carried out later Autumn. The work was recommended to be carried out by the Youth Services and the Open Spaces and Leisure committees. The work was reviewed and approved by the Finance & General Purposes Committee on the 11th of September 2023.

Councillor Chloe Gustard the Chair of the Youth Services Committee said: “For local people (young and old!) the skatepark at Greatness is a great place to meet friends and have fun being active.”

Following the Completion of the Refurbishment of the Skate Park at Greatness Recreational Ground, Kings Ramps in Partnership with Sevenoaks Town Council will be hosting a Skateboard and BMX event on Tuesday the 24th of October 2023.

From 11a.m. until 4p.m. To celebrate the Completion of the refurbishment of Greatness Skate park there will be free workshops and coaching supplied by Kings Ramps for those both new and experienced to take part and live demonstrations from pro Skateboarders and BMX riders.

The event will be taking place on Tuesday the 24th of October 2023 at 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. At Greatness Skate Park, Greatness Recreational Ground, Sevenoaks, TN14 5 BU.
