PRESS RELEASE: Sevenoaks Wins Gold

Sevenoaks Town Council is celebrating winning Gold Awards for this year’s South & South East in Bloom Competition for the Town Centre, The Vine and Upper High Street Gardens. HOUSE in the Basement Youth Café also won the accolade of ‘Thriving’ with It’s Your Neighbourhood entry.

Cllr Dr Merilyn Canet, Chair of the Open Spaces and Leisure Committee said: After a very difficult year for gardeners, we were not optimistic about our results for the In Bloom competition. I was thrilled to collect our Gold Medal certificates on behalf of all our Sevenoaks Town Council team including our volunteers.

Gold for the Town Centre. Gold for the Vine, such a well-used and loved public space, this brings huge maintenance challenges for our team, and Gold for the Upper High Street Gardens which provides a tranquil spot in the centre of town.

Sevenoaks can be very proud as was I to represent the Town Council.
