PRESS RELEASE: Sevenoaks Christmas Lights Switch On Event

Sevenoaks Town Council believes that in these difficult economic times it is even more important to make the town as attractive as possible to support our retailers and local jobs and provide enjoyment to the local community.

The Town Council is therefore pleased to hold its traditional Christmas Lights Switch On event on Friday 24th November 2023 from 6.00 to 8.30pm.

This is a free outdoor event which will take place in Sevenoaks High Street and includes fairground rides for children, stall holders, food concessions, street entertainment and a Father Christmas Grotto. Live entertainment will take place on a stage, featuring the Sevenoaks Panto, which this year is Jack and the Beanstalk. A countdown ceremony will see the Mayor switching on the lights at 7.30pm.

The Christmas Lights are generously supported by our main sponsors: Specsavers, Manak Solicitors and Bligh’s Meadow.

Sevenoaks High Street and Dorset Street will be closed from 5:00 to 9:30pm, and Akehurst Lane from 4:00 to 9:30pm.

The District Council is providing free car parking in the Town Centre car parks from 6.00pm.
