Sevenoaks in Bloom

What is Sevenoaks in Bloom?

Sevenoaks in Bloom is a group of volunteers, local businesses and partners led by Sevenoaks Town Council who come together to care for our environment, protecting wildlife, and encouraging the community to come together through floral and gardening projects in our town.

Through gardening, we bring people together to create a positive and lasting improvement to our environment for the benefit of all. We address issues such as sustainability, recycling, minimising waste, and energy conservation. Sevenoaks in Bloom is about creating a stunning environment in which to live, visit and work.

Sevenoaks in Bloom are delighted to have reached the Britain in Bloom national final for 2025. This year's chosen theme is Celebrating Bugs, Edible Gardening and primary colours of blue and purple.

Judging day

They came, they saw, they judged! As temperatures hit 30 degrees, RHS Britain in Bloom judges toured Sevenoaks on Tuesday 12 August, looking at planters, flowerbeds and impressive displays of artwork. Read all about the judging day of this year's competition in our news article here.

National Finalist in 2022...

Sevenoaks last qualified for Britain in Bloom in 2022 when it won the Silver Gilt award.

And National Finalist in 2025!

Now after scooping three golds and The Vine winning the top prize for Park of the Year at the South & South East In Bloom 2024 awards, this strong performance means Sevenoaks is in the national finals again.

When was the 2025 competition judged?

The judging period ran from 28 July - 12 August 2025, and the winner will be announced in October.

Who else is in our category?

Our rivals in the Town Centres & City Centre category are Darlington, Northumbria in Bloom; Growing Kirkcaldy, Keep Scotland Beautiful, and Middleton Town Centre, North West in Bloom.

Other Kent locations in the finals representing South & South East in Bloom are Royal Tunbridge Wells, in the Small City & City category, and Eynsford in Bloom, in the Village & Large Village category.

Why is the award important?

The Britain in Bloom award is a key influence on environmental improvements in horticulture, increasing biodiversity and in helping to make the United Kingdom a greener place.

Our theme: Celebrating Bugs!

The signature colours for Sevenoaks this year will be purple and blue, with flashes of white and yellow, and the theme is Celebrating Bugs. Edible plants and herbs will be planted, and flowers for pollinators.

Thank you to all volunteers

A staggering 1,765 volunteering hours have been clocked for this year’s competition. The whole community including school pupils, gardening volunteers of all ages, businesses, community groups and crafters have all worked together to ensure the town looked perfect. Sevenoaks Town Council is incredibly grateful to everyone involved.
