SEVENOAKS TOWN COUNCIL DESIGN A CHRISTMAS LIGHT COMPETITION WINNER

In September the Town Council invited children under the age of 11 to enter a competition to design a new Christmas Light for Sevenoaks Town Centre.

Hundreds of entries were received, and the Town Council would like to thank all the children who took the time to send us their fantastic artwork.

A winner was chosen, and congratulations go to 10-year-old Ted Evan for his wonderful design for a jolly Father Christmas light.

The light has been manufactured and installed at The Stag Theatre. On Friday 23rd December, Ted and his family attended a switch on ceremony with the Mayor, Councillor Rachel Parry, and Andrew Eyre, Chief Executive of The Stag.

The Mayor commented:
“We had so many wonderful entries from local young artists that it was very difficult to choose a winner, but Ted’s design stood out for its appealing portrayal of a jolly Santa that made us all smile, and we could see how it could be turned into a light. Many congratulations to Ted whose light will now be part of the Town Centre’s Christmas Lights display for many years to come.”
