PRESS RELEASE: Tarmac Ltd to present Sevenoaks Quarry Proposals and Project-Update at the Sevenoaks Town Public Meeting 11th March 2024

Published: 26 February 2024

Representatives of Tarmac, the developer behind the recently Granted Outline permission to build up to 800 new residences and 150 special care units at Sevenoaks Quarry, are due to present at the Sevenoaks Town Meeting on 11th March 2024. This will be held at the Bat & Ball Community Centre, Cramptons Road, TN14 5DN.

This is a unique opportunity for members of the public to meet with the developer’s representatives, Meeting Place, to ask questions about the proposals or voice their concerns and have them answered. It is a large development which will raise the Town’s population significantly while providing various new infrastructure benefits such as a watersports lake, a school site, improvements to Bat & Ball Junction, and community use reintroduced to the Oast House. Members of the public are therefore encouraged to attend and engage with the plans in this early stage of their development, in order to have their voices heard.

George Kup of Meeting Place said:
“Tarmac are excited to be coming along to this year’s Annual Town Public Meeting to engage with residents and update them on the progress of the Sevenoaks Quarry proposals”

Prior to the commencement of the meeting at 7pm – when Tarmac are due to present an update on their proposals to the public – their representatives, as well as Sevenoaks Town Councillors will be available to engage with the local community and answer any questions you may have. Members of the public are welcome to attend from 6:30pm onwards to address the Councillors.

Cllr Claire Shea, Mayor of Sevenoaks said:
“We’re really pleased that Tarmac have offered to come and talk to local residents about the plans for the quarry now that Outline planning permission has been granted. We look forward to hearing about how the scheme will develop and having the opportunity for Tarmac answer your questions.”

Also in attendance will be the recipients of this financial year’s Grants from Sevenoaks Town Council, where members of the public will have the opportunity to visit their exhibition stands and find out more about what these valuable voluntary groups provide to the local community. The Town Council is privileged to be able to provide a number of Grants to local voluntary organisations and charities, and the Mayor will be presenting them with Grant cheques at the meeting.

There will also be opportunity at the end of the meeting for members of the public to ask questions or make comments on matters relating to Sevenoaks.
