Community invited to Lilia’s Kitchen Opening Event at Bat & Ball Station
Published: 17 October 2025
Sevenoaks Town Council is delighted to welcome Lilia's Kitchen to the café at Bat & Ball Station and would like to invite the community to the Opening Event on Saturday 1st November.
It has been a long-term aim for the Town Council to have the café managed by an independent concession who can provide a more diverse offer. Lilia’s Kitchen began operating at Bat & Ball Station on 1st October and has already received glowing feedback from customers. Locals are particularly pleased to hear about the extended opening hours and exciting new menu.
Owner Lilia serves café classics alongside Malagasy dishes – a blend of French, African, Indian, and Malaysian influences. Lilia’s Kitchen has teamed up with Tom from Crave the Crunch to serve irresistible pastries and bread fresh from the oven every day.
Lilia’s Kitchen is hosting the Opening Event on Saturday 1st November from 3pm to 6:30pm at the café and everyone is welcome. On the day, Lilia will be showcasing a range of delicious food that the café has to offer. Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of wine (subject to availability) and will also have the option to purchase food from the café or enjoy a tasting menu in the main hall for £10.
Speaking about the story behind Lilia’s Kitchen, Lilia said, “I started my business nine years ago to share my love of Malagasy food and introduce its rich, diverse flavours to the UK. In Madagascar, food is at the heart of family life, and from a young age I learned to cook with my grandmother. That early passion grew into a lifelong love of creating dishes that bring people together. Over the years, I’ve embraced cuisines from around the world, experimenting with spices and flavours to create food that excites and delights. For me, food is about joy, connection, and sharing a smile, something I’m proud to bring to every plate at Lilia’s Kitchen.”
From Wednesday 29th October, Lilia’s Kitchen will also be the new home of Sevenoaks Town Council’s Chatter & Natter table, part of The Chatty Café Scheme. This was previously at Café on the Vine. Volunteers will host the Chatter & Natter table at Lilia’s Kitchen on Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 3pm and anyone can join for a friendly chat. It’s a welcoming space for conversation and connection.
The community is encouraged to experience the new café at Bat & Ball Station and try Lilia’s delicious food.
