Join the festive fun at the Sevenoaks Christmas Lights Switch-On event
Published: 14 November 2025
Sevenoaks Town Council invites the community to come along to this year’s Christmas Lights Switch-On event in Sevenoaks High Street on Saturday 29 November.
The Mayor of Sevenoaks said, “We are repeating last year’s success to make it a family-friendly afternoon event. The High Street will be closed after lunch to allow safe pedestrian shopping. There will be stalls and entertainment in the town centre. Then, just as it gets dark, I pop up with the panto cast and turn the lights on. With luck, you might catch sight of Father Christmas. Don’t miss it.”
The festivities run from 3pm to 5:30pm. The cast of this year’s Stag pantomime, Aladdin, will delight the crowds with a performance on stage, then the cast will be joined by the Mayor of Sevenoaks to switch on the lights at 4.30pm.
Made in Kent Radio will once again compere the event, bringing plenty of festive fun. Expect an exciting programme of family entertainment from choirs and samba drummers to tap-dancing elves! You will also get the opportunity to take a Christmas photo with a giant inflatable snow globe.
There will be a fantastic range of stalls offering food, drink and gifts, plus some very special guests wandering the crowds including Frozen’s Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. The hugely popular Santa’s Grotto will also return, giving children the chance to meet Father Christmas and take home a present.
So, bring your family and friends, soak up the festive spirit, and enjoy an afternoon of Christmas cheer in Sevenoaks.
The High Street, Dorset Street and part of Akehurst Lane will be closed from 1:30pm to 7pm to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.

Thank you to this year’s star level sponsors: Specsavers, Manak Solicitors, Bluebird Care and Bligh’s Meadow who have helped make this much-loved event possible.
