PRESS RELEASE: Sevenoaks Town Council expresses support for continued progression of East to West cycling route

Sevenoaks Town Council expressed its keen support and optimism for the recently removed Cycling Prohibition on the footpath between the junctions of Robyns Way and London Road, which Councillors considered would greatly improve the usability of the East to West cycling route.

Notice was received on 16th March 2026 by the Town Council’s Planning & Environment Committee that Kent County Council, as Local Highway Authority, had removed the cycling prohibition in order to facilitate the East to West route.

While some minor issues, including signage and landowner negotiations to fill gaps in the route remain, the Town Council is optimistic that the removed prohibition is a step (or cycle?) in the right direction.
