PRESS RELEASE SEVENOAKS TOWN COUNCIL SIGNS CONVEYANCING FOR COMMUNITY ASSET, LONGSPRING WOODS
Published: 24 July 2024
It was with great pleasure that the Mayor of Sevenoaks, Cllr Libby Ancrum signed the conveyancing documents for the acquisition of Longspring Woods, prior to last night’s (22nd July 2024) Town Council meeting.
This follows – and could not have been achieved without – an unbelievably positive response from the community of Sevenoaks, who stepped up with donations of £100,000+ towards the purchase price of £185,000 which enabled the vast ancient woodland to be purchased and retained for future generations to come. Matched by a substantial contribution from Sevenoaks Town Council, the purchase is due to be completed this week, and the ancient woodland protected as a community asset.

Sevenoaks Town Council is in the process of completing a Management Plan for the ongoing sustainability of the Wood and community engagement. https://www.sevenoakstown.gov.uk/Longspring_Woods_47769.aspx
